Polyphenylsulfone formulations are designed to be cost-effective.
 
Acudel® Modified PPSU (Polyphenylsulfone) is a series of proprietary formulations that fill the cost/performance gap between PPSU and Polysulfone (PSU).
Acudel® grades offer good toughness, chemical resistance, and excellent hydrolytic and dimensional stability, making them ideal for piping system components where pressure and temperature requirements are not high.
Acudel 79000®is designed for aircraft cabin interiors and meets the strict FAA requirements for low heat release, low smoke generation and low toxic emissions.

Toughness and impact strength
 

1. · Radel® polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) can withstand continuous exposure to high temperatures and humidity while still absorbing large impacts without cracking or breaking.
2. ·The impact strength of breadboards subjected to 170 hours of heat aging at 190°C was evaluated using the Gardner Drop Impact Test Apparatus. Radel® PPSU absorbs significantly more impact than polyetherimide (PEI) and does not crack or break.
