Amodel® PPA
Superior to standard polyamides in terms of thermal properties, moisture resistance and chemical resistance
Amodel® PPA outperforms standard polyamides, with higher strength and stiffness at high temperatures; It retains its properties better in wet environments and has greater resistance to a wider range of chemicals.
Higher heat resistanceAmodel® PPA is used as a metal replacement in high-temperature automotive applications. Continuous operating temperature from 120°C to 185°C (248°F to 365°F). Heat deflection temperature (HDT) up to 310°C (590°F).

Low moisture absorptionHumid environments can have a devastating effect on the mechanical properties of standard polyamides. Even at high humidity levels, the low moisture absorption of the Amodel® PPA significantly reduces changes in strength and stiffness.

Higher chemical resistance
- Even at high temperatures, Amodel® PPA's highly aromatic ring structure provides greater resistance to a wider range of chemicals than standard aliphatic polyamides. This allows automotive, electrical, and industrial components to withstand long-term exposure to harsh chemicals:
- Biodiesel
- Brake fluid
- Calcium chloride
- Ethylene glycol
- Synthetic motor oil
- Anti-icing road salt
- Sulfuric acid
- Transmission fluids
- Zinc chloride
TrademarkAmodel® PPA offers more grades than any other material in the industry. A one-by-one comparison of typical properties provides a quick insight into the properties of the material. Individual data sheets are also available.
Base resinHow do we determine grades
Amodel® PPA products are based on three semi-aromatic, semi-crystalline polyamide-based resins, each offering unique performance and processing characteristics.
Glass fibers, heat stabilizers, impact modifiers, minerals, and other materials are blended together with these base resins to produce a broad line of Amodel® PPA products for a wide range of applications.
Glass-filled gradesGlass fibers increase strength and stiffness, while improving short-term thermal properties and long-lasting creep and fatigue resistance. For those requiring wall thicknesses greater than 3 mm (0.125 in.) applications, consider choosing from our AS grades.
